Twenty Eight Days Till Splashdown

28 Days 15 Minutes and 36 Seconds from now…my life will be turned completely upside down…literally and figuratively…from the Midwest to the tip of South Africa…Port Elizabeth, SA…to be exact…††

I will leave at 10am on Monday morning, the 22nd and arrive on Tuesday, the 23rd around 4 pm…taking the time difference…about an 18 hours journey…

The hot, and dripping humid summer has officially begun…there the winter has arrived with all it’s bluster…it was an arctic 59 degrees F…I do think that I will be able to handle the change in temperature…

The hot, and dripping humid summer has officially begun…there the winter has arrived with all it’s bluster…it was an arctic 59 degrees F…I do think that I will be able to handle the change in temperature…the yearly temperature ranges from a low of 59 F to a high of 72 F…that is going to be soooo difficult…kidding

Port Elizabeth is sub-tropical and known to have one of the best climates in the world…but it is also known as the “Windy City”…but more for the frequency than the force…I was told that there are 4 types of winds..several can be experienced in one day…

A winter wind …named “Berg” winds… Berg wind are literally, mountain wind it is a hot, dry, squally wind blowing off the interior plateau of South Africa, roughly at right angles to the coast …causing an anomaly of the highest temperatures of the year can occur during the winter months…

The winds come from the interior…but then they disappear just a quickly…causing another drastic drop in temperature… sounds like a yo-yo type of day… for the curious https://youtu.be/Tt4mqc8XV

……so many differences with emotions to match…

to be continued…
